Submission Deadline is Tomorrow! Avoid Common Submission Mistakes

We're seeing some truly incredible experiences so far, but we’ve noticed some trending mistakes. Make sure you don’t get caught with any of these common submission blunders and your project remains eligible to win.

The deadline to submit is tomorrow, December 9, at 12pm PST. Finish your submission here

1. Verifying Meta Horizon Start Program Membership

You (or the submitting member of your team) must be a member of the Meta Horizon Start program to participate in the competition. Not yet a member? Apply now.

2. Submitting the Correct URL to Your Project

The biggest mistake seen so far is providing the wrong link. Please provide the invite link for your Meta Horizon release channel labeled "competition". To do this:

  1. Upload an APK to a new release channel named “Competition” in the Meta Horizon Developer Dashboard.
  2. Create an Invite URL.
  3. Add that Invite URL to the specific question on the Additional Info page of your Devpost submission.

3. Explaining New vs. Updated Projects

  • NEW projects are those that were built from scratch during the competition period (November 5-December 9). If any aspect of your project was developed prior to November 5, it is considered “Updated”.
  • UPDATED projects must include significant updates made specifically during the competition period (November 5-December 9).

If you are submitting an UPDATED project, make sure you answer the relevant question (screenshot below) to explain the work done for this competition.

4. Creating and Sharing Your Demonstration Video

Your video is the judges' first look at your project, so please ensure it follows these key rules:

  • Keep it under three (3) minutes
  • Showcase footage of your Project in action as viewed on a Meta Quest device or via XR Simulator or another equivalent emulator.
  • Upload and make it publicly visible on YouTube.

The competition deadline is right around the corner!

Finish your submission here and make sure it’s marked as SUBMITTED on the My Projects page before December 9 at 12pm PST.

Visit the Developer Forum to ask questions or catch up on recordings from previous events.

We can’t wait to see your project—good luck!
